Some Tips on Bra Health
1. Avoid breast packaging while sleeping (who are you packaging for in your dream? lol!): some ladies wear bras to sleep with the myth that it helps in maintaining posture and avoiding sagging. Wearing such at night will promote breast swelling, limit blood and lymphatic flow.
2. Wash frequently: You should aim at washing your bra frequently after 2-4 wears. It depends on the woman’s personal hygiene, lifestyle and activity. For women who sweat more may wish to wash more frequently than others but not necessarily after each wear.
3. Do not wear the same bra for two consecutive days i.e. two days in a row. Allow a day or two for the elastic bands to retract to the original state before next wear. This way your bra can last longer and won’t slack sooner.
4. Breast Bathing: Often while bathing most women forget that the breast area is a crucial part of the process especially in thick women and women with big boobs. You need wash thoroughly around the band and cleavage areas as sweats and microorganism are perfect lovers.
5. Choose comfort over couture: Wearing fashionable and sexy bras (push-ups, super push-ups, laces and pearls) are absolutely perfect but try a more comfortable bra for cosy and relaxed days.
6. Sports bras for sports/ workout: A sports bra is designed for sport so don’t wear other types of bra for the purpose of sport.
7. Breast changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so don’t wear the same bra in your non-pregnancy state while you are pregnant, the same for breastfeeding. So get the right sizes for the different states.
8. Get fitted regularly: Yor body continually undergoes changes from ageing, losing or gaining weight to different hormonal changes (pregnancy and breastfeeding). So don’t expect your bra size to remain constant from age 24 to age 44.
9. Wear the right bra for the occasion: there are different types of bra (not every occasion demands a push-up). There are others such as padded, bandeau, minimizers, strapless, sports, T-shirt, maternity, e.t.c. Get the bra for the type of outfit.
